Interstate Signs are an excellent way to advertise to
drivers on US Highways. Many states offer these "Logo Signing
Programs".

The process usually consists of this:
- Contact your State Department of
Transportation
- Obtain an application for their Logo Signing
Program
- Check the exact distance from the Interstate
to your location (this will be essential in the process)
- Go over all of the application requirements,
fill out the application completely. Keep a copy for you
records.
- When the DOT contacts you for artwork,
contact us. We will provide them with your layout and provide
you with a reasonable quote, while meeting their manufacturing
specifications.
FAQ
- Can any sign company produce a Interstate
Logo Sign? No, the production of these signs is very
regulated for several reasons. They are produced on highly
reflective material that must be the same as all other highway signs
in order to be visible at night. Additionally, they must be
screen printed and NOT digitally printed according to DOT
specifications. The reason for this is simple, they want these
signs to be posted for many years and screen printing does not fade
like digital printing does. All of these factors insure that
you receive a high quality, long lasting sign. We have been
supplying these signs in the State of Illinois for more than ten
years.
- Can any business be posted on these signs?
No, your DOT regulates which companies by type, location, hours of
operation and other criteria may qualify for one of these special
signs. Contact your local DOT office to see if you qualify.
- Who installs the signs? Your
sign contractor will deliver the signs to your DOT sign shop and the
DOT personnel will install the signs to insure proper placement and
check the quality.
- Does every state have a Logo Sign Program?
No, a few states do not have these sign systems in place.
- Are these signs expensive? Yes &
No, you will usually pay a fee to the DOT for the
application/placement/rent of the space on the main sign. They
are produced with high quality materials to maintain a quality
image. Your custom production and delivery on an average set of
signs is about $1,500. However, compare this cost to a
billboard for a similar period of exposure. The size of the
billboard may be larger but usually the distance from the driver is
drastically different. So the overall apparent size is
similar and a fraction of the cost.
