Freestanding Signs (also known as Pylon Signs or
Monument Signs) are a great addition to your business, church or school.
Your local zoning department will generally have guidelines for you
regarding the maximum total square footage, overall sign height and
distance the sign needs to be set back from the road.
One of the biggest mistakes companies make when going into an existing business location is taking down an existing freestanding sign BEFORE checking local sign codes. The zoning codes are ever changing so what was permitted when that old sign was installed may not be allowed today. This doesn't mean you'll have an "old" sign, it usually can look new again with the right materials. Always talk to your sign contractor BEFORE you remove any signs from your business. Churches and schools generally feature a changeable copy board or electronic message center on their signs to make announcements about events. These have proven to be beneficial to business to announce sales, specials, promotions or other timely events. In areas with strict regulations on banners you should look at this option before making a new sign purchase. Please check our service area to see if we can help you. In addition, please read the information on choosing a sign contractor in our Sign School.
