Exterior or Interior Sign Cabinets
This is one of the most common forms of illuminated signage.  The sign cabinet or frame can be constructed in a variety of standard or custom sizes.  Aluminum frames are the most common due to the longevity.  They are painted with vehicle grade enamel paints to ensure a long-lasting professional finish.  They can be illuminated using fluorescent, neon, LED or HID lamps.  The type of lighting selected is based upon square footage of the sign and thickness of the sign cabinet.  If your sign cabinet is too thin your lighting will be visible through the sign faces, this is known as "hot spots".  A well designed sign will have an evenly lit surface.  These signs can be one sign face or have two faces.  The sign faces can be constructed from Flex-Face material, Plexiglas or polycarbonate.

When purchasing this type of sign it is common for you to request quotes from more than one contractor.  Make sure when you are comparing the quotes that you are comparing apples to apples.  You will need too know the type of metal, the thickness of that metal, the type of paint, the number of lamps, the type of lamps, the type of face, the thickness of that face, the type of decoration ... depending upon the project this list can go on.  Assume nothing, signs are just like cars, there are many different ways to build a car.  Yugo's and BMW's are both cars that can seat four people ... but they are not the same.
